Boasting of white, rosé, and BBQ-friendly reds, the tasting rooms in the Woodinville Wine Country offer wines from all over. They not only have award-winning wineries with wine grapes sourced from the Columbia Valley, but they are also ready to welcome summertime guests from all over the country!
Most wineries around the Woodinville area feature a variety of award-winning wines that receive top scores. If you’re looking for an unpretentious destination, where you and your friends can enjoy wine tasting on a private patio, lawn or during a concert I promise you, you’re in for a fabulous treat visiting Woodinville! Here are wine stops that you can explore this summer:
Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville Wine Country
Rosé-ALL-Day! Chateau Ste. Michelle is located in Woodinville, Washington near Seattle. Aside from being one of Washington State’s oldest and most acclaimed winery, it’s open daily from 10 am to 5 pm so that revelers can enjoy sampling its award-winning wines and have a tasting experience like never seen before. The winery also hosts outdoor movies and summer concerts shown at the Chateau Amphitheater!
The Vashon Island Tasting Rooms
Known as the “Heart of the Sound” due to its location halfway between Seattle and Tacoma, the Vashon Island is home to strawberry and blueberry farms, wineries, cideries and breweries. The Vashon Island Tasting Rooms are stocked with wine casks filled with refreshing whites and bold reds for your sampling pleasure! I love Vashon because it’s a fun ferry ride, close to JBLM and you feel miles, and miles away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Cave B Estate Winery in Quincy, WA
Eastern Washington has so much to offer wine lovers! The Cave B Estate is both a winery and a spa resort, amidst miles of vineyards, rolling hills, & overlooks the Columbia River. If you want to relax and are looking for a special place where you can get away for some peace while sampling some refreshing varieties of wine, the Cave B Inn & Spa is the place to be. Oh, and the rooms to choose from are abundant! You can stay in a cavern room with a “cave-like” entrance or a desert yurt, for the naturalist! This property is on my list to enjoy, and deserves an entire article to itself!
The Barnard Griffin Winery
The Barnard Griffin Winery in Richland, Washington is not only the place where you will sample amazing wine varieties that came from very humble beginnings, as you will learn during the tour! They started with borrowed grapes in a rented cellar. Talk about a determination to succeed! The winery is all about entertaining you to the fullest with fun and games to ensure that you keep coming back for more. They are all about wines and pairing them with delicious meals. You can expect to sample wines like the famous Barnard Griffin Cabernet Sauvignon that features dark berry and cherry flavors which are highlighted by toasty oak, vanilla and orange zest notes.
J. Bookwalter Winery
Are you looking for a first-class winery where you can relax, sip, and enjoy the outdoors and play some yard games? J. Bookwalter Winery delivers! This winery is owned by a family made up of agricultural experts. Sunset Magazine even named it one of the best tasting rooms in the United States! J. Bookwalter is a must-see if you’re in Eastern Washington. In addition, the wine stop is nearby one of my favorite riverside retreats in Richland, Columbia Point Resort! The resort is the place to be with a modern tasting studio, attractive grounds, a full-service restaurant and homey rooms served by a friendly staff that shares their passion for wine and history.
