Summer vacation is here, and you’re probably trying to figure out what to do with your family. With the kids home from school all day, you’re going to need to get out of the house or else you’re going to go crazy! While smaller trips to the parks and other local things will help them with their insane energy, also try to schedule in a fun family vacation that allows you all to get away from your current schedules and daily lives and really have some summer fun. Here are a few family theme parks you and your kids will love:

1. A Trip To The Mouse’s House

No family vacation list would be complete with out a visit to the infamous Mouse…Mickey Mouse that is! You can make either head to Orland, FL, for Disney World or Southern California to visit Disneyland. Both are great family vacations, but Disney World offers tons more to do (and is a bit pricier given there’s more theme parks to visit). Your kids will love either theme park and have the time of their life. It’ll be their best summer yet! A few new things for summer of 2018 are Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot, and the much anticipated Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

2. Universal Studios

If you’re headed to Florida or California for a Disney visit, you can also possibly squeeze in a trip to Universal Studies since it’s right there. In the past couple of years, Universal Studios has really stepped up their game and now offers a wide variety of attractions. But it’s their Harry Potter attraction that is the most popular and the one your kids will love the most. When going to Orlando this summer, don’t forget to consider Universal Studios for your next theme park visit. If you’re planning a trip in August, consider the new cool and modern Aventura Hotel opening soon on property, offering views of all three parks.

3. SeaWorld

If your kids love animals (particularly sea animals), they’ll want to visit a SeaWorld theme park during their summer vacation. There’s SeaWorld San Diego, SeaWorld San Antonio, and Busch Gardens Tampa and Williamsburg, which all offer fun attractions and sea animals that your kids can see up close. Besides all the charismatic sea animals, the theme park also features fun rides and special events the whole family will enjoy. A new and upcoming ride this year is Infinity Falls in Orlando. Updates on ride completion can be found on the SeaWorld website. My children absolutely loved the ride Mako as well. Be prepared to wait in very long lines – this ride is quite popular! Sea World has really amped up their focus regarding conservation efforts and helping animals across the globe.

4. Hersheypark

Situated in Hershey, Derry Township, Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is a theme park and water park in one! With 14 thrilling rollercoasters and more than 70 different attractions, a summer trip here will warrant nothing but fun! Oh and it’s a sweet place to indulge in your chocolate-filled desires given it’s touted as “The Sweetest Place On Earth!” This summer you can indulge in Food Truck Fridays at Hershey park, featuring all of your favorite vendors such as Whalburgers and Soul Burrito. If you’d like to stay in the area, an accommodation I recommend is the fun and family friendly Hotel Hershey!

5. Dollywood

Located in the Great Smoky Mountains, TN, Dollywood is someplace your kids will love and you and your partner will be able to enjoy once the kids go to sleep. There’s a theme park, water park, dinner shows and more. It’s a great place to indulge in some country music. The resort offers stylish and spacious lodging filled with the best of southern hospitality! Adjacent to Dollywood is the water park attraction Splash Country, where you can cool off during a hot summer day starting in May. New rides for 2018 include Drop Line, which whisks you up a whopping 20 stories high and drops you back down. Several new musicians and entertainment options have also been added to the entertainment lineup.
