Craving a fun filled girly weekend? Want to plan an amazing trip with your favorite girlfriends, where there are many options to choose from for your group? There are many benefits to choosing the West Coast for your Girls Weekend Getaway. Enjoy wine tasting, shopping, indulge in the spa for some much needed pampering or tanning on beach. Let’s find out where you can go for a girl trip in the West Coast:
You had me at SanFran, what a treat! Food, art, culture, wine, and natural beauty are just a few things that this big city has to offer. Choose a fun hotel in the city such as the W San Fran, or the swanky Huntington House, hop on a trolley ride, browse the Farmers Market, and take the at Yerba Buena Gardens. The Golden Gate Bridge is must-see, along with a ferry ride to Alcatraz Island. For fun photo opportunities head to Fisherman’s Wharf, and historic Chinatown. If you’d like to have a cocktail and take in the night lights of the city, consider booking a tour with Vantigo, where you can see the lights with a cocktail in an old restored Volkswagen. Fun!
Your girls weekend in San Francisco will not disappoint.
Wine. Yes. Please. Napa Valley wine country is one of my favorite places for girls trips! Napa has some of the regions finest wines, amidst Northern California’s most scenic vineyards. But, Napa isn’t just for wine lovers, if you’re a champagne gal, be sure to make a stop at Mums, or Domaine Carneros for some delicious bubbly. For foodies (like myself) who like to sip and savor, you’ll find most restaurants make their dishes from the freshest produce that is locally grown. If you don’t want to drive, or rent a limo, you can hop on the Napa Valley Wine Train, enjoy breathtaking views from the terrace of Auberge du Soleil, tour the Castello di Amorosa, and dine and shop at the Main Street in St. Helena.
Why Palm Springs? Flamingos and pool floaties that’s why! Cocktails by the pool, mid-century modernism, hiking, and boutique shopping on Palm Canyon Drive will leave you craving more of this beautiful desert oasis. The Aerial Tramway and Mount San Jacinto, Coachella Valley Preserve are a few of our favorite hiking spots.
You had me at sun and baseball. Scottsdale is home of the MLB Spring Training facilities, and where the Final Four is held for college basketball. Lounging in the sunny pool weather is one of my favorite reason to visit Scottsdale. The desert vibe and rays of sunshine will promise to bring your soul to center. If you want to go out dancing, head to Old Town, where the nightlife is hopping with bars like Wasted Grain, Blue Martini Lounge, and Maya. If you’re looking places you should visit outside go to the Riverfront, visit the Scottsdale Wine Trail, or take a jeep tour in the desert.
Eclectic crowds, donuts and food truck festivals are a few of my favorite ways to describe Portland. A native to the area, this is a perfect choice for a girls trip. Beautiful downtown hotels, quirky neighborhoods, and fabulous restaurants to choose from make Portland a great place to bring your friends. A recommendation for a hotel stay would be at The Hotel Nines, or the boutique Hotel Monaco. Both with eye catching décor, and give that swanky, special feel you and your friends may be looking for.
The Pikes Market, Post Alley, Space Needle and boat rides during sunset on Lake Union are some of my favorites while taking visitors to Seattle. Other must-visit locations for a trip to Seattle are the famous gum wall near Post Alley, the flying fish market in Pikes Place Market, Alki Beach, and taking a Ferry ride to a nearby island if time permits. What is great about the PAC NW, and Seattle is that this where the mountains meet the sea. The Olympic National Park, Mt Rainier, and the Cascades mountain ranges are all great choices for hiking enthusiasts.
I hope you consider the West Coast for your next girls, solo or romantic trip!
